The Engineers who designed the original SAAB 93 & 96 cars knew that 50/50 front/rear weight distribution was optimal for the cars.  The early cars used lighweight 2-stroke motors to achieve this balance.
The V4 motor was an available quick solution to meet convenience & emissions requirements for overseas markets but resulted in 60/40 weight distribution ... the cast iron V4 engine is just too heavy for the lightweight SAAB 96.
Here we present a long hidden and elegant motor solution designed & built by SAAB Engineering Skunkworks.
